Quayside Skyline

vee8 writes, I thought I’d try a different aspect of the Quayside skyline showing the very old traditional roofing ranging through to the futuristic.

The Sage

skipchris writes: I’ve not been to the Sage yet, although i shall be seeing Kim Gordon there next month… but I do like its shape and colours. Unfortunately I hate ‘cliché’d’ photos of Newcastle, so I was more than happy one night strolling home when I managed to catch this, especially with its anonymous couple…

35mm/Nikon F20/ISO 200… god knows what else :)

I do really hate cliché’d Newcastle photos, so this is me playing Know Your Enemy. This was taken Spring 2004, I love the way you can see Newcastle reflected in the windows, and I wish the sky was a better blue. x

Tyne Bridge

Tyne Bridge

05-08-22 Tyne Bridge 07 submitted and taken by ILuvNUFC.

Is there any better sight to warm the heart than our very own Tyne Bridge - and what Newcastle photographic website would be complete without a photograph of it!

This great photo comes from ILuvNUFC, on a fading summers day and shows the bridge taken from the Newcastle Quayside.

For the latest views of the Tyne Bridge you can check out the Tyne Bridge webcam!

Baltic reflection

Baltic reflection

Baltic reflection submitted and taken by Pickersgill Reef.

This one was taken on the 17th June 2005 just before Spencer Tunick’s evening installation Naked City.

The tide turned and for a brief time slack water provided a beautiful reflection of Baltic. The sun at last broke through the clouds for a moment.

The surreal effect is enhanced by the complete absence of people.
